THE FULL STORY

Rennis Room began as a Visual Basic project in Elementary school. I originally started making an adventure experience that was like the old MacVenture games from the 1980's. After making a little progress I abandoned the project. Many years later, after our son was born and was diagnosed with autism, I decided to revisited the idea.  I ended up making some adjustments to the original design by adding in ASMR sounds for him to experience. I also added in some mixed media, like photographs. This direction is a favorite of mine, since childhood when I watch the original Muppet Babies series. The use of mixed media in the cartoon was very common on this show and had a big impact on me as well.

My wife and I are also both nuerodiverse and find stimming enjoyable, but recommend not spending more than 10 minutes in the house, at a time.

I will be adding more rooms and interactions in the coming months, but for now I hope you enjoy exploring each room, as we have. Welcome to Rennis Room.
